"This program has truly helped me develop essential study habits. I believe this system has helped me more than any other program I have taken, including the regular high school and a junior college program. My teacher, Mrs. Toni Kelly, is also another factor that adds to my love for the Independent Study Program. She is kind and interesting, but most of all very helpful. I wouldn't want to let a teacher like that down. I am learning, and finishing my courses with much pleasure here."

The CNA/HHA program provided me valuable insight into the healthcare profession—from principles of care to the dynamics of the healthcare industry as a whole. The instruction I received is an excellent foundation for working in any arena; from administration, marketing, and sales within the industry to working with residents in order to improve the quality of their lives. Terrific program.”

“I came to the USA to visit my sister and I wanted to improve my English skills. At first, it was very difficult for me to speak in English. My accent was very strong and I could not express anything in English. Sometimes I couldn’t understand what people said. However, I learned from the class not only English, but I also learned about the culture and real life in the USA. I now have many friends who have different cultures and first languages. It is very interesting. I feel more comfortable than before when I talk to others people in English. I’m very satisfied with my classes, teachers and the staff. I’m sure my English will improve even more than before and it will help me get a job or study at college someday.”

Choosing to attend the Learn MS Office at Home program at Castro Valley Adult and Career Education was a great idea for me. This program has allowed me to turn my computer “weakness” into “strengths”, has opened the doors for other employment opportunities within Kaiser Permanente, and has allowed me to stay current with the latest software programs. However, what I have enjoyed the most is the flexibility of the program and my interaction with my teacher, Bonnie. She is very knowledgeable, and her patience is unmatched! As long as she is teaching, I will stay enrolled in her class.”

"Praise for pilate's and praise for the excellent instruction I have received! I have chronic back problems and have been discouraged by past exercise programs I have tried in my attempt to increase my strength and flexibility. Since starting the CVAS Basic Pilates classes, I am amazed by the progress I have made in just a few weeks! I feel stronger, my posture has improved and I have more energy for my daily walks. Arlette Earwood is a very encouraging instructor who has helped me adjust Pilates movements to accommodate my health problems with wonderful results. I highly recommend this class!"

I wanted more energy and my Dr. said "Exercise." Years ago, I attended an exercise class and I recall being on the floor-and I can no longer do that, I'm 81. At the CV Aitken Senior Center there is a Exercise, it' s Sit and Stretch...and believe me, it's great exercise. It's a one hour class on Mon. Wed. & Friday. The wonderful teacher, Nancy Farrell, has us moving at a comfortable pace. I began in Jan. '09 as my only New Year's Resolution. I am already reaping the rewards! I could only work in my garden for one hour a day and now I can continuefor three hours. I can also stretch my neck and turn my head, so I can see behind me when I am going to back my car out of a parking place. Thanks to the Dr. for the "push" and I hope to give others a push!

I tried English courses in college a few times but it didn’t help me a lot. When I started attending the Learn English at Home program, I found that this is what I needed. When I have questions, my teacher always helps me to understand during my weekly appointment. The more important thing is she corrects my homework so I can learn from my mistakes. If I persist in this course, my English may not be perfect, but it will definitely get better and better.
