You may enroll at any time for High School Diploma, GED Preparation classes, or Academic Transitions (ABE). Classroom instruction is offered as well as Independent Study and Distance Learning.

Academic Transitions (ABE) Distance Learning:
Looking to improve your skills in math, grammar, writing, or reading? Our new
Academic Transitions (ABE) Distance Learning course allows you to work
at home on your own time. Instruction is given through weekly one-on-one
appointments with the teacher and access to school computer lab. Take-home
learning materials including workbooks, readers, CDs, and access to internet
learning programs. No registration fee! ($50 refundable cash deposit required for materials.)

High School Diploma Classroom Study:
• Registration is free!
• Do your assignments at the school.
• Work with a teacher during class time.
• Complete all the requirements for your High School Diploma.
Afternoon Classes: Monday-Thursday 4:00-6:00 pm
Evening Classes: Tuesday/Thursday 6:30-9:00 pm

High School Diploma Independent Study:
• Registration is free! ($50 refundable cash deposit required for materials)
• Work at home on your own time, independent of the school.
• Meet with your teacher once a week in an individual, personal appointment.
• Complete all the requirements for your High School Diploma.

Credit Recovery-Concurrent Enrollment for High School Students:
• High school students seeking “make-up” credit may enroll concurrently in the adult school after meeting with a high school counselor and parent/caregiver to obtain a release form. Only Castro Valley High School and Redwood High School students are admitted. Students should call for an appointment to meet with the
Adult School Assistant Principal, Susan Passeggi, at 886-1000.

GED

New GED Test Prep Class
This hybrid class allows GED Distance Learning students to come to Room 1
GED Lab on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. for a daily
mini math or writing lesson, work on your individual subjects, as well as use
the GED computer software to improve skills. The instructor will be available
to work with students individually and in small groups. Registration is free!
($50 refundable cash deposit required for materials)

GED Classroom Study:
• Registration is free!
• Receive assistance in reviewing English, Reading, Writing, Math, Social
Studies and Science for the GED.
Evening Classes: Tuesday/Thursday 6:30-9:00 pm

Distance Learning GED Preparation:
• Registration is free! ($50 refundable cash deposit required for materials)
• Work at home on your own time.
• Learning materials include videos, DVD, cassette tapes, books, software,
and assignment guides.
• Meet with your teacher once a week in a personal appointment.
