Upon completing this class you will have learned to conjugate irregular and reflexive verbs in the present tense and will have been introduced to the usage of verbs in the past tense. Your conversation and reading abilities will have improved substantially.

Although the focus of this course is workplace communication, you will also be able to apply skills to travel, shopping and daily conversation with Spanish speakers. You will also have learned more about how Spanish culture differs in the various countries throughout the world.

Prerequisite(s): Satisfactory completion of Spanish Level II or permission of the instructor. Textbook Required: See book list No Class: 4/2, 4/23 Instructor Bio: Emilce Olroyd was born and raised in Colombia in a little village northeast of Bogota. 22 years ago, she and her daughter moved to the United States. Speaking very little English, she decided to go to school to learn the language. There, she realized she had a passion for teaching and decided to become a Spanish teacher. Emilce has been teaching Spanish to both children and adults in the Bay Area for 16 years. She served for ten years as the Director of a Spanish Enrichment Program for 310 elementary school students. She continues to educate about the Hispanic culture and traditions at a private East Bay school. Her hobbies include traveling and learning about other cultures.
