This course focuses on developing conversation skills at a beginner level, for students who already have a basic knowledge of the fundamentals of the language.

You will continue to improve your listening and speaking skills. You’ll actively engage and work with peers, and learn to communicate in various everyday situations using the most common vocabulary and language structures.

We will cover some of the following situations: enjoying free time, communicating at a hotel, traveling around Italy, Italian food, talking about everyday life, and family. We’ll also explore some of the following grammar aspects: present tense of regular and irregular verbs, reflexive verbs, prepositions, cardinal and ordinal numbers, direct and indirect pronouns, and past tense of the verb (passato prossimo).

Prerequisite(s): Having attended Basic Italian or a previous basic knowledge of Italian (pronunciation, articles, subject pronouns, nouns and basic verbs in the present tense).
