Instructor: Staff

Notaries must:

  • Be 18 years old
  • Be a California resident
  • Read, write, and understand English
  • Successfully complete this course
  • Pass a state exam (30 multiple-choice questions)
  • Pass a background check

Start your own business or add to your current business working as a Notary Public. As a commissioned public servant, notaries serve a vital role in protecting the integrity of important documents.

This one-day state approved course will teach you everything you need to know to be a successful Notary Public. The instructor will also explain the steps to become a Notary Public and the associated costs, including insurance, supplies, and a required background check.

Notary Exam: Students may take the State Notary exam from 3:45 - 4:35 p.m. immediately following the class. Bring to the course a $40 check or money order payable to “Secretary of State”, an unexpired legal form of identification, a 2”x2” passport photograph, and two #2 pencils. Per State law, late arrivals will not be permitted in class.

Note(s): Bring to the course a $35 materials fee payable to CA Notary Training Center. Instructor Bio: California Notary Training Center has been teaching notary training courses at schools and colleges throughout Northern California since 2009.
