Homemade Yogurt

Instructor: Clement-Shurma

Grocery stores offer lots of kinds of yogurt, but wouldn’t it be cool to avoid the hassle of reading all of the labels and make your own using whole fresh milk and a yogurt culture?

Join Christine and learn how to make this versatile and nutritious dairy food. Yogurt is a breakfast staple that can add protein and flavor to a bowl of granola and fruit. You will also learn how to prepare Indian Raita and Greek Tzatziki-- flavorful and savory toppings for omelettes, rice, and other mild foods that come alive with the texture and taste of a seasoned yogurt!

Material Fee(s): $3 Instructor Bio: Christine Clement Shurma was born on a farm in Switzerland. The family made all of their food—bread, butter, cream-- from scratch, giving her a taste for “real food” made with wholesome, fresh ingredients. Love brought her to the United States and after her kids started school, she owned and operated a Swiss bakery, Swiss Delices for eight years so she could share her love of authentic food with Castro Valley. She is now ready to share her recipes and flare for fresh, healthy food with her students!
