Apple Cinnamon Pie and Vanilla Pear Tart

Instructor: Clement-Shurma

Nothing makes your home feel cozier than the aroma of a homemade pie or tart baking in your kitchen. Fresh apples and pears are waiting at the grocery store or farmer’s market to be sliced and combined with luscious flavorings—cinnamon for apples and vanilla for pears—and baked to perfection!

Join Christine and learn many creative ways to offer these crowd-pleasing desserts. She will show you many ways to personalize your creation using dried fruit, nuts, and a variety of crust and crumble options. You’ll be the star of the dinner party when you show up with a cinnamon apple pie or vanilla pear tart still warm from your oven!

Material Fee(s): $8 Instructor Bio: Christine Clement Shurma was born on a farm in Switzerland. The family made all of their food—bread, butter, cream-- from scratch, giving her a taste for “real food” made with wholesome, fresh ingredients. Love brought her to the United States and after her kids started school, she owned and operated a Swiss bakery, Swiss Delices for eight years so she could share her love of authentic food with Castro Valley. She is now ready to share her recipes and flare for fresh, healthy food with her students!
