Photographing People

Instructor: Hew

Taking great pictures of people can be harder than it looks! You can learn some tips and techniques, however, for getting the best out of your subjects.

Join Stephen and learn how to effectively scout for ideal locations, pose individuals and groups, and determine the composition of your photos for maximum effect. You will learn how to process your digital files with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.

Students will practice with various forms of light including natural light, studio lights, camera flash, and off camera flash.

All levels of photographers are welcome, though we will explore some intermediate techniques such as adjusting exposure with aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.

Instructor Bio: Stephen Hew started his photography education at UC Santa Cruz in 1998 and has been photographing people, landscapes, and still life ever since.
