Distance Learning Administrative Medical Assistant Program

This program will prepare students for entry-level skills needed to work in the front office of a healthcare facility, by providing instruction and skill development in the daily operations of a medical office. Students will learn front office skills such as: managing the Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR), introduction to health insurance, introduction to billing, reimbursement & account collections, healthcare law & ethics, telephone management (scheduling appointments), medical terminology basics, anatomy & physiology basics, and soft skills for success (e.g. professionalism, communication, career-building). This program prepares you for the State and National AMA examinations.

 

 

 

Prerequisite(s): Students must attend orientation. Students must have basic computer and keyboard skills and regular access to a computer and internet in order to work within the online learning platform. Note(s): This is a distance learning program with live online lectures. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will earn a competency-based certificate.
