Clinical Medical Assistant Program

Become a Clinical Medical Assistant in the growing and demanding field of healthcare! This program will prepare you to sit for the CCBMA and NCCT certification exams. Test prep included. Students will learn to perform clinical procedures including taking vital signs, preparing and administering injections, drawing blood, collecting specimens, taking electrocardiograms, recording and charting patient history, learning the practical applications of Electronic Health Records, preparing patients for x-rays and examinations, applying bandages and dressings, learning medical terminology and career development.

Textbook required. Information provided at registration.

Must attend ONE of the following FREE orientations prior to registration:

  • Thursday, April 2 | 6pm - 9pm | Room 10
  • Saturday, April 4 | 9am - 12pm | Room 10
  • Tuesday, April 7 | 6pm - 9pm | Room 10

If interested in CMA/MAS, you will take a reading and math assessment. Upon successful completion, you will receive a registration appointment. Prerequisite(s): Students must have earned high school diploma or GED. Students must attend orientation (see below). Students must have basic computer and keyboarding skills. As a prerequisite for Clinical Medical Assistant, students must complete and pass “Core Skills for the Healthcare Professional.” Note(s): Successful students will be offered the opportunity to enroll in an optional Clinical Medical Assistant Externship Program.
