Clinical Medical Assistant Program (Hybrid)

 Become a Clinical Medical Assistant in the growing and demanding field of healthcare! This program is a blend of online instruction and in-class skills training. It will prepare you to sit for the NCCT and CCBMA, Basic, Clinical, and Administrative certification exams. Test prep included. Students will learn to perform clinical procedures including taking vital signs, preparing and administering injections, drawing blood, collecting specimens, taking electrocardiograms, recording and charting patient history, learning the practical applications of Electronic Health Records, preparing patients for x-rays and examinations, applying bandages and dressings, learning medical terminology and career development. This course also includes medical administrative online training.

Textbook required. Information provided at registration.

 

Prerequisite(s): Students must have earned high school diploma or GED. Students must attend orientation (see below). Students must have basic computer and keyboarding skills and regular access to a computer with a camera and microphone in order to work within the online learning platform. As a prerequisite for Clinical Medical Assistant, students must complete and pass “Core Skills for the Healthcare Professional.” Note(s): Successful students will be offered the opportunity to enroll in an optional Clinical Medical Assistant Externship Program.
