Literacy, Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Classes Offered
ESL classes teach grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, speaking, and life skills to non-English speaking adults. English Language Civic lessons and computer skills are also taught as part of the curriculum. This quarter we are introducing a new Multi-Level Listening and Speaking class to provide students with more practice in saying and hearing U.S. English.


Morning ESL Classes:
Monday-Thursday 8:30 am-12:15 pm

Evening ESL Classes:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 6:30-9:00 pm

Friday Morning - Listening and Speaking Class:
9:00 to 11:00 am

Students may register any time during the quarter for any class.
Students will receive an assessment and orientation before placement in class.

All ESL Classes are FREE.

LEARN ENGLISH AT HOME WITH VIDEO/DVD
Busy schedule? Limited or no transportation? Consider learning English at home.
Meet once each week with your instructor on campus for assignments. Day, evening,
and Saturday times available. ESL Distance Learning materials include videos/DVDs and workbooks. A $40 materials deposit will be refunded when you complete the course.

CITIZENSHIP – LEARN AT HOME
Learn about the American government and the U.S. Constitution to prepare for the
Citizenship Examination. Citizenship Distance Learning materials include video
tapes or DVD’s and workbooks students check out for use at home. Meet once a
week with your teacher to review assignments and receive one-to-one instruction.
Enroll anytime. Classes are free except for a $30 materials deposit that will be refunded when you complete the course. Call 510-886-1000 for an orientation appointment.
