The American Heart Association First Aid class is designed to give you the confidence to respond in an emergency situation with skills that can save a life. This 5-hour course provides complete first aid and safety skills, equipping individuals to recognize and provide basic first aid care for injuries and sudden illnesses.

Learn essential life saving techniques! The CPR course will teach a combination of artificial respiration and artificial circulation for basic life support techniques. Instruction will also cover A-B-C steps and review CPR training for individuals requiring re-certification.

This yoga class is designed for students with a basic understanding of the fundamental yoga poses, as well as for beginning students who are in good physical condition. Emphasis will be on using the asanas (yoga positions) to increase flexibility, balance, and strength as well as enhancing emotional well being. Mats & props will be provided.

In this introductory workshop, find out what mindfulness meditation is - and what it is not! Learn about how mindfulness is being used to increase happiness and well-being, as well as relieve stress-related illness, anxiety, depression, chronic pain and addiction. Participants will sample a variety of simple mindfulness practices, and get information on additional classes, books and other resources.

Simple Tools to Relieve Stress, Worry and Unhappiness
This 8-session course will introduce a simple yet powerful approach to dealing with stressful situations, negative thoughts and difficult emotions. Mindfulness can be described as a particular way of paying attention and being fully present in the moment. Mindfulness-based therapies have been used successfully to treat stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain and addiction. Even 15-20 minutes a day of meditation or other mindfulness practices can make a difference in improving mood, energy and overall well-being.

This class is an optional add-on for those who are enrolled in the Mindfulness for Beginners course, as well as a refresher for those who have previously taken one of my Mindfulness classes. Participants will experience the elements of a typical Mindfulness Meditation retreat, including sitting meditation, walking meditation, simple yoga, and loving-kindness practice. Most of the retreat will be conducted in silence, with time for questions and sharing experiences at the end. Please bring a bag lunch, to be eaten mindfully.

Continued Mindfulness Practice
This class is for anyone who has already taken the Mindfulness for Beginners course, or a comparable course elsewhere, and would like a refresher or support in maintaining their mindfulness practice. Students are expected to have a basic understanding of mindfulness, including experience with meditation practice.
