Birds Of The Bay Area

For this Spring Semester we will review the habitats and typical birds of the world’s bio-regions – from ocean islands, to temperate and tropical forests, to mountains, to deserts, to polar waters, and more. We will also look at causes of the decline and extinction of so many species in these realms. Special attention will be paid to the arrival and departure of Spring migrants, which will be a focus for Field Trips (to include Point Reyes National Seashore).

Field Trips may not only be in the East Bay, but also include the greater Bay Area (then Double Length Sessions will have extended times, e.g. 8:15 am – 12:15 pm or 10:15 am – 2:15 pm). Destinations and directions will be announced prior to outings.
