Mircosoft Office Specialist Examination
& Practice Test

Strengthen your resume or impress your current employer by passing the Microsoft Office Specialist Examination.

In partnership with Certiport Inc. Castro Valley Adult School is now an authorized testing center for Microsoft Office Specialist Examinations. The cost per exam including proctor fee is $82 with one retake allowed. We test for Microsoft Word, Word Expert Level, Excel, Excel Expert Level, Powerpoint, and Access.

Computerized practice exam time can also be purchased at $15 for 3 hours. The practice tests will provide the student with his or her strong and weak points. Based upon assessment scores students may decide they are ready for the Office Specialist Examination, or decide to enroll in an adult school course to strengthen skills.

LEARN MICROSOFT OFFICE AT HOME
Need skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook or Access, but cannot commit to attending lengthy class sessions? With Learn at Home, you will attend an initial orientation with an instructor, complete course work at home, email your completed assignments in and meet with your instructor for 30 minutes weekly or biweekly for assistance. This course is for highly motivated adults who can work independently. Students will create a portfolio of completed assignments to demonstrate competency in the selected Microsoft applications. Students will earn a Microsoft Application Certificate at the level achieved in each selected application. 30 minute appointments will be scheduled at mutually convenient times between you and the instructor.

NOTARY PUBLIC AT HOME EDUCATION PROGRAM -Preparation Only

This at-home notary education program is State approved and satisfies the new law as of July 1, 2005 that requires mandatory education for applicants who are new or renewing their commissions. Fast and convenient, there is no need to wait for materials in the mail or for a live class. You may print out the on-line workbook after you register. In addition to completing a mandatory education program, you need to sign up to take the State notary examination. This examination must be taken in person at a scheduled test date and location set up by the State. The examination fee is separate from the course fee. Examination information can be found on the website once you register for the course.

Call 510-886-1000 to register for this on-line course, or register in person at the Castro Valley Adult School office. When registration is complete you will receive a password to access the on-line program. Registration is ongoing.
